2nd Chase for the Champion Race brings out the Extreme R/C Monster Trucks

Posted: 9/4/2006

The competition was hot at Race Rock in Orlando Florida this past Labor Day weekend and it was hot literally, even in the shade! There was no need to warm up your truck, just set it out in the sun for a minute and it was ready to go! There were about 40 R/C Monster trucks at the second race in our Chase for the Championship points series sponsored by Bear Foot and Amsoil After Shock Monster truck racing teams. There was a mix of new and old faces at the drivers meeting. The Morgan family, newcomers from Melbourne Florida made the drive and had a good showing. It was father against daughter in one race. Check out Tim’s (the Father) hopped up Tundra Power Traxxas Sport Maxx in our Truck gallery.

JC Espinet sponsored by XTM Racing created all new bodies for his trucks and keeping with the monster truck theme renamed his trucks. No more NASCAR we now have the Terminator, Iron Horse, Sabertooth, White Fang and Mammoth. Team Syndicate unleashed their power monster trucks headed by Mike “The Hulk” Herndon’s Incredible Hulk which took first in the Unlimited Truck Pulling class. Steve Tash’s Byron sponsored Ford Thunder Losi LST took first in concourse. Check out the picture gallery for photos of these awesome trucks!

Bari Musawwir's Losi LST Monster Mutt blasted past Biff Fowler’s Biffilious in the Big Block finals to capture his second straight Big Block class win in the Chase for the Championship points series. Bari also set a new track record with a time of 7.15 seconds. Kaos driven by Dustin Kelly took top honors in the Tuff Truck competition. Tommy Feichtel driving his Traxxas Grave Digger out dueled JC Espinet’s White Fang to win the Small Block class. See the video clips for race highlights.

We would like to thank JC Espinet and Global Hobby Distributors for providing race day give-a-ways. We look forward to seeing all of you on September 16-17 for our Summer Nationals hosted at Race Rock in Orlando. The Summer Nationals will be the third race in the Chase for the Championship points series.
