JConcepts wins at Watermelon Classic in Aiken South Carolina

The 2009 Watermelon Classic held in Aiken, South Carolina, continued the tradition of fast competition, close racing, and challenging conditions.

JConcepts was well represented in all classes however it was the Pro Buggy Class A-main which highlighted the weekend. The Pro 1/8 Pro Buggy main was a battle throughout with JConcepts tires taking 4 of the top ten spots. Brandon Melton with his Team Associated RC8B and Barry Pettit with his Mugen MBX6, both on JConcepts tires, battled early for the lead and the 2 looked poised for a 1-2 finish.

At the completion of the hard fought race it was Pettit taking the win with Melton taking a solid 4th place finish. Tim Smith and John McGinty were also on JConcepts tires and finished in the A-main.

Barry’s winning combination for the difficult Aiken track condition was JConcepts Crossbows in Blue compound, Illuzion - MBX-6 body and Mono racing wheels.
