eXtreme Competition at Final “In it to Win it!” II EventPosted: 8/17/2008
Temperatures were high and the competition was fierce at the final “In it to win it!” II event at eXtreme Hobby Zone.
Congratulations to Brian Macumber and his family who were the lucky winner of the Kenmore Stainless Steel grille! The Macumber Family was eXtremely excited to win the grill and planned to start barbequing as soon as they got home. Due to the construction process of the new eXtreme Hobby Zone Rock Cross race course, Sand Drags were isolated to one lane. Drivers ran the single lane three times and the lowest time would be the scoring run. Up first, Small Block Sand Drags. First place went to Mike Parrish who ran the quickest time of 1.338 seconds, driving his Traxxas Revo. Hunter Parrish took the second place spot with a time of 1.347 seconds driving his T-Maxx Grave Digger. Steve Cowles took the third place spot with a time of 1.349 seconds.
Big Block Sand Drags had Bruce Talley Taking the first place spot with a time of 1.176 seconds. David Yeako took the second place spot with a time of 1.376 seconds. Larry Bosse took third place with a time of 1.324 seconds. Big Block Truck Pulls had a two way battle for first place in a pull off between Shannon Jones and Brian Macumber. Jones took the win with a full pull @ 50lbs. Macumber came in second place with a pull of 28’11” @50lbs. Bruce Talley took third place with a pull of 23’2” @ 45lbs driving Bad Habit. Small Block truck pulls had Rachel Jones taking the win driving Wild Cat with a full pull @ 30lbs. Mike Parrish driving Dig Dude took second place with a pull of 29’1” @ 30lbs. Van Parrish took third place with a pull of 28’6” driving Iron Cross.
Monstercross was back at eXtreme Hobby Zone. Drivers tested their skills on our most technical track layout to date. David Yeako and top qualifier Steve Cowles would battle it out in the Big Block A Main for the first place spot. Cowles top qualified with a time of 1:42.602 @ 5 laps. David Yeako drove his HPI Savage from the D Main all the way to the first place spot in the A Main with a time of 3:31.510 @ 10 laps. Steve Cowles took the second place spot with his truck suffering from technical difficulties. Van Parrish took third place. Brett Sullivan once again took the first place spot in Small Block racing. Brett top qualified with a time 1:29.855 @ 5 laps and won the event with a time of 3:13.849 @ 10 laps. Hunter Parrish ran a good race with a second place time of 3:38.182 @ 10 laps. Hunter also took the third place spot with T-Maxx Grave Digger. Racers, Rock Crawlers, Sand Draggers, and Truck Pullers get ready for the grand opening of eXtreme Hobby Zone’s new rock crawling race course. Saturday, August 23rd, JConcepts and R/C Monster Motosports will be launching Rock Cross! Don’t miss this exciting new event along with side by side Monstercross racing, Truck Pulls, and Sand Drags.
